The Chester School District has contracted Maria Veale to lead the search for the next Superintendent, which will be done via a collaborative committee. Maria is seeking volunteers from the following categories to join the Principal, Director of Special Services, and Business Administrator:
- Two School Board Members
- Three teachers (representation from both the elementary and middle levels)
- Two parent representatives (at least one should be a member of the PTA)
- One Paraeducator
- One Support Staff Member
The current Superintendent will be contacting parents via email during the week of January 8th, 2024. Individuals who would like to be potentially selected to the committee should email Maria by 3:00 PM, Friday, Feb 2th, 2024 at [email protected]. Screening Committee members will be selected by February 7th, 2024. Maria will meet with families for their input at 5:00pm on Wednesday, February 7th at CA in Room 164.
During the week of February 12th, 2024, the Screening Committee will meet at an agreed upon time and date to review stakeholder input. During this review they will create a profile for the new Superintendent that will guide the application screening and interview criteria.
Interviews will be conducted by the Screening Committee during the first two weeks of March. After the last interview the Screening Committee will meet to chose the finalists.
Ms. Veale will provide the Board the finalist(s) with the strengths of each candidate that the Screening Committee has identified. The Board will then interview candidates prior to their April 3rd Board Meeting.
The Chester School Board will provide a public announcement of the new Superintendent by Friday, April 5th, 2024.
