Dear Chester Academy Community,

I am sending this message to inform you that we have another 8th grade student who has tested positive for COVID-19. The student was last in school on Friday, October 8, 2021, and the NH Division of Public Health Services (DPHS) determined that there is no new risk of school exposure. The DPHS is not recommending any further actions at this time as we have already implemented many layers of prevention.

We are, however, having our custodial staff do additional cleaning and sanitizing in the classrooms. We have also asked our staff to be extra vigilant with hand washing, respiratory etiquette, and proper mask wearing. We would like to ask families to join us in our vigilance by monitoring your children closely and not sending students to school with any new or unexplained symptoms of COVID-19 this includes even mild symptoms.  Please also report any symptoms or exposure to the school nurse.

Thank you again for your partnership in keeping our students safe, healthy, and in-person this school year.

Sincerely,

Sharon Locke

Superintendent of Schools
