Letter from the Superintendent - Oct 12, 2021
Posted on 10/11/2021

Dear Chester Academy Community,

I am sending this message to you to inform you that, during the long weekend, one of our 8th grade students tested positive for COVID-19.  After consultation with the NH Division of Public Health Services, it has been determined that there may have been minimal risk of exposure for middle school students as well as students in bus #4 as the student was in school on Friday, October 8, 2021.

The community transmission level for COVID-19 in Chester remains at the Substantial level so we continue to ask for your help to prevent COVID-19 from impacting our school community. COVID-19 is most commonly spread through respiratory droplets when an infected person talks, coughs, sneezes or sings.  Please do not send your child to school if they have any new or unexplained symptoms of COVID-19 this includes even mild symptoms or if someone in their household has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the prior 14 days. Please report any symptoms or exposure to the school nurse.

Thank you again for your partnership in keeping our students safe, healthy, and in-person this school year.

Sincerely,

Sharon Locke, EdD

Superintendent of Schools
