Letter from the Superintendent - December 16th, 2020

Letter ImageDear Chester Educational Community,

We received notification last evening that a staff member has tested positive with COVID-19. This staff member has not been in the school building since last week due to having been a close contact to someone with COVID. As a precaution, we contacted anyone who may have come into possible close contact with the staff member. These were minimal due to our daily protocols. They were contacted earlier today.

Interestingly this staff member reported no symptoms, even though testing positive. This serves as a reminder that one never knows when coming in contact with someone if they may have the virus. Please continue to wear masks, keep 6 feet of physical distance when out and about, and practice good hand hygiene.

Should you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or Principal Lacroix. We will continue to do our best to provide you with up to date information.

Lastly, we have been tracking the upcoming winter storm and have made the decision to cancel school for Thursday, December 17. This day will be a traditional, no school day where children get to enjoy the outdoors and not worry about online lessons. Be safe everyone.

Sincerely,

Darrell J. Lockwood, Ed.D.
