The Chester School Board approved the Draft Reopening Plan for Chester Academy at the June 9th School Board meeting.

The next steps for the Chester Academy Reopening Committee are:
  • The Committee will meet to begin the revision process of Draft Reopening Plan on June 29th in anticipation of the July 7th Board meeting.
  • Revisions to Reopening Plan, as/if needed, will be reviewed at the July 7th and August 11th Board Meetings.
  • A letter on the approved final 2021 – 2022 School Reopening Plan will be sent to Parents on Friday August 13th.

Dear Chester Educational Community,

We received a good deal of feedback and many suggestions for improvements on our initial 2021-22 School Reopening Plan draft. Thank you! The information was shared with the Reopening Committee for consideration as changes and revisions are being contemplated.

The Reopening Committee met yesterday in a lengthy meeting to do just that. A number of changes and revisions have been incorporated into the Plan. A revised/updated plan is now available online for your perusal. It can be accessed here. In addition, the Committee created an Executive Summary of the Plan which can be accessed here. Both of these documents will be reviewed by the Chester School Board at their meeting this evening.

This initial Plan is being developed to meet the recently announced NHDOE requirement that a Plan be submitted from every School District by June 23rd. As mentioned previously and reiterated in the Plan, more work will be done on this Plan by the Reopening Committee and reviewed by the School Board in July and August. There are many things that will require further inquiry and guidance before being finalized. However, this draft has been written based upon what is known today. Parents and staff will be kept up to date on future changes through periodic status updates.

Should you have any questions and/or concerns, please reach out to one of the Reopening Committee members or a School Board member. The best information on the Plan will come from these individuals.
